Slow Cooking
A slow cooker may take all day to cook a meal, but it require a minimum of effort and can produce an excellent flavour. Slow cookers are available from most appliance stores.
Method
Put any combination of vegetables you like into your slow cooker. Even vegetables which take different times to cook can be put together, as even the softest vegetables retain their shape with this method.
Try baking onions in the slow cooker: peel them and sprinkle them with tamari. By the end of the day they are extremely soft, even spreadable.
Advantages of Slow Cooking
Minimum preparation time: simply chop the vegetables and put them in the slow coooker. There is usually no need for exotic sauces, as the full flavour of the vegetables is brought out beautifully.
Safety: you can leave it cooking while you are away from the kitchen, knowing it will not overcook or burn.
Nutritious: no added fat needed.
