Fruit Smoothies

Fresh fruit blended with yoghurt makes a fast, delicious and healthy drink.

You can use yoghurt, milk, soymilk or ricemilk to give the creaminess and flavour you like. Be inventive, try some different combinations.

A smoothie can become a dessert or even a meal if you add things like wheatgerm, soy milk, lecithin and oat bran.

Recipe

Some Suggested Combinations

  • 1 slice fresh pineapple, 1 ripe banana, and 1 cup plain yoghurt

  • 1 peeled and cored apple, a pinch of cinnamon powder, and 1 cup rice milk

  • 1 cup fresh pawpaw pulp, 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger, and 1 cup soymilk

  • 1 ripe mango (minus skin and stone), and 1 cup plain yoghurt

  • 1 cup apricots or peaches, 1 cup plain yoghurt

    Method

    • Simply put all the ingredients together in a blender and blend until smooth. Add water or more milk if you like a more liquid consistency.
